  Nick chose to take the lower bed, whereas Julian took the top bed, as he did not mind jumping in and out of the bed because of his fitter physical outlook. After taking their stuff out of the bag, Nick jumped into his bed to lie down. Julian put on the television to watch the news to check if their names were mentioned in that day’s broadcast.

  Nick was trying to sleep as he did not have much in the last few days. He said to Julian, ‘Julian, why don't you take some rest as well. We have been on the run for the last many days and this is our first opportunity to take some rest and spend some time together.’

  Julian switched off the television, and said, ‘You are right. I should take some rest as well.’

  Within seconds, Julian dived into Nick’s bed and took him in his arms and started to kiss Nick passionately and vigorously. Julian’s hands moved everywhere on Nick’s smooth body. He pinched Nick’s bottom and then took his clothes off to come on top of him and make love with Nick.

  Julian then whispered to Nick, ‘I love you. Even after our arrest, we are still together. Nobody knows that you are a woman. We need to keep that secret hidden from everybody else for as long as possible.’

  Nick was enjoying the orgasm after a long time. She whispered, ‘Julian I will do everything to be with you in this life and if there are more lives, then I want to be with you as we make such a nice couple. For you I will do anything. That is why I came with you in prison by pretending to be a man.’

  Julian was lying in the bed looking at the ceiling that had cracks at corners and some paint had come off in different parts of its corners.

  He said, ‘you did not have to do that for me as I know Nicki that it is very difficult to keep your identity undetected but we will work on this. Try not to mix with other prisoners and stay in your room as much as you can.’

  Nicki put her arms around Julian’s chest and whispered ‘I will try my best. How will I take my shower? I don't want to mix with other prisoners, especially when they take their shower naked.’

  Julian stroked Nick’s hair with his fingers and muttered, ‘You can take shower in the room here by filling up sink with warm water and then use towel or sponge to rub it all over your body. Just do not go outside and stay with me most of the time.’

  Nicki felt very comfortable lying in Julian’s arms. She looked into his eyes and whispered, ‘Somebody may recognise me by looking at the feminine parts of my body during a strip search or if they may recognize my female voice.’

  Julian just laughed and said, ‘Try not to talk too much with other people or pretend that you are dumb. Try to learn a sign language.’

  Nicki touched her face with her fingers and said, ‘I do not know how to use a sign language and there is nobody here to teach me.’

  Julian turned his face towards Nick and muttered, ‘You can make your own signs. Also try to speak with a deeper voice, in case you have to communicate with somebody, the best thing to do is not to mix with anybody.’

  Julian looked at the door and continued, ‘Some men do have feminine sounding voices. Fortunately, or unfortunately, your breasts are flat, so nobody can doubt you from there. Just don't take shower in the bathroom. You were lucky that nobody checked your genitals at the reception area, otherwise they would had suspected that you are not male.’

  Nicked blushed and whispered, ‘I know that. Still it was embarrassing that I had to show my bottom to these men in prison uniforms.’

  Julian laughed and said, ‘Their mouth must have dropped by looking at your sexy bottom.’

  Nick slapped gently on Julian’s face, ‘It is not funny. I am tolerating all this because of you.’

  Julian pulled Nicki near him and said, ‘Imagine, just three months ago, our lives were so different. We were blissfully happy, and everything was working according to plan.’ Julian heard some footsteps outside in the corridor, he quickly jumped out of bed to sit on a chair. He heard the flap of his door opened from outside by on duty prison officer, who asked, ‘Is everything OK inside here.’ Julian raised his hand and said, ‘Yes boss, everything is fine here.’

  Julian climbed up to his own bed as he did not want to take any risks of detection by a passing by prison officer during the night time.

  Chapter 6

  Julian was living in a detached house in the affluent area of Hornchurch in Essex. Julian Dashwood ran a successful Doctor’s practice along with his wife – Gina. Julian was in his forties and had teenaged children, who had both secured places in medical schools. Julian had felt life to be empty as Gina was too busy in her role both as a life partner and a doctor in the surgery.

  Gina was admired by her patients for her dedication and hard work, and she was always the first preference as a doctor for them. Julian felt a bit of jealousy because of this attitude of patients, even if he was the senior partner in the practice. Gina took majority of the decisions during the practice meetings, thus undermining Julian’s authority. He had tried to be nicer to patients to attract them to him but that only worked sometimes as they still preferred to make their appointments with his wife instead.

  Gina was not aware of the acrimonious feelings of her husband towards her, as she was too busy working and running the surgery. Consequently, Gina started to put on weight and looked much older than her forty years of age.

  Whenever she came home, she made no efforts in trying to look attractive and appealing to Julian. Her hair were mostly unkempt and untidy, and her wardrobe was so outdated that her clothes style matched more that of nineties. Julian suggested many times to Gina to buy new clothes, but she paid no attention to him. Few times, Julian bought new trendy clothes for Gina, but she would just put them to one side, thus hurting Julian’s feelings. After a while, he stopped buying any items for her.

  One day when he was sitting in the surgery, after finishing his work for the day, he got a call from the receptionist. ‘Dr Dashwood, I have got a patient who is demanding to see a doctor, despite that she does not have any appointment with any of the doctors here.’

  Julian intervened, ‘I have finished for the day and now I have to rush to a meeting, what is her problem anyway?’

  The receptionist looked at Collin with half open eyes and said, ‘She is a well-groomed thirty years old woman who is complaining of severe headache. She says that her head will burst if she does not see any doctor now.’

  Julian looked at his watch and said, ‘OK, send her in. I will try to see her quickly.’

  Julian got a knock on the door and he saw a woman coming inside the room, his mouth remained wide open and pupils dilated when he saw an attractive woman walking towards him. She was about thirty years old, slim five feet and five inches tall, elegant and very well dressed. Her hair was light brown and up to shoulder length. She gave the impression of an executive personnel in some top company. Her well-manicured pink nails matched with similar coloured glossy lips

  ‘Good evening, what can I do for you?’ asked Julian while looking at his computer screen.

  The woman sat down on the empty chair and then held her head in her hands and said, ‘Thanks doctor for seeing me this evening. My name is Nicola Sinclair. I have got this severe headache for the last three days and it is not getting any better with paracetamol and co-dydamol.’

  ‘Tell me more about this headache.’ said Julian while looking at her past medications on the screen.

  She pressed her forehead with her fingers and said, ‘I have had this headache on the right side which has lasted for whole day and I am also getting blurred vision and nausea with this.’

  ‘Are you expecting periods soon?’ asked Julian

  ‘Yes doctor, in probably about two days’ time. Why do you ask?’ Nicola put her head against the back of the chair while looking directly into Julian’s eyes

  ‘I will tell you in a minute. Does anybody else in your family suffer from migraines?’

  ‘Yes, my mother does.’ whispered Nicola.

  ‘So, Ms Sinclair, you are also suffering from migraine.
I will give you some different tablets than to what you had about two years ago.’

  ‘Thanks doctor, last week I saw your partner, but her medicines did not work and that is why I wanted to use your expertise instead.’ smirked Nicola

  Julian saw this opportunity to score over his wife. He explained with a toothy grin. ‘You must avoid cheese, coke, coffee, coitus and chocolate.’

  ‘OK doctor, what is coitus? asked Nicola

  Julian smiled and muttered without looking at his patient, ‘Oh yes, that is sex. I mean avoid excessive sex during these attacks of migraine.’

  Nicola looked at the floor, as she could feel extra blood rushing through her cheeks, she muttered ‘Sorry doctor, I do not have a partner at the moment, so that part is taken care of.’

  Julian thought for a moment that how come a pretty woman like her has not been taken by anybody yet. He smiled and said, ‘That is good. Well then try these medicines and see how you feel. If there are any problems, then you can come back to me.’

  Nicola left the room thanking Julian for his treatment.

  A week later Julian checked his patient’s lists and saw Nicola’s name there, for a minute, Julian’s heart started to beat faster, as he had not expected to see her again.

  Nickola was seen exactly on time, as Julian had made sure that he had finished seeing his other patients quickly before seeing her. Nickola was wearing even more glamorous clothes than last time when he saw her. She sat down in the chair with a smile on her face.

  Julian greeted her and asked, ‘What can I do for you today? Is your headache better now?’

  She sat down in the chair with her hands folded on her thighs. She said, ‘Yes, doctor, the headache is better, but I still get a bit of nausea. I just wondered if I can have more repeat pills, as I am going away for the weekend.’

  ‘Yes, that is a good idea. I will give you more medicines.’ said Julian

  Julian gave her another prescription of medicines. Julian glanced at her from a sideways position to see whether Nicola was still looking at him with gleaming eyes. Then Julian looked up to ask, ‘Is there anything else I can do for you?’

  Nicki suddenly straightened herself and said, ‘Oh yes, as I am going away, I just wondered if I can call you on your mobile if I get another headache attack.’

  ‘You can call the local doctor or casualty. I am not supposed to give you my mobile phone number.’ insisted Julian.

  Nicki hesitated and then said, ‘I would feel more comfortable to talk to you. You seem to understand my problem better.’

  Julian rubbed his hands and a smile returned on his face as he said. ‘Normally, I do not give out my mobile number to my patients, but I will make an exception this time and please only call me if you really need me.’

  Nicola took the mobile number by writing it on a piece of paper and rushed out of the room.

  Chapter 7

  Five days later, Julian got a call from Nicola on a Sunday afternoon, who said ‘I am sorry Doctor Dashwood to disturb you like this. I just forgot what food I need to avoid during these migraine attacks. I am going to a party and I don't want to eat or drink something which will cause me to have headaches again.’

  Julian repeated items that Nickola was supposed to avoid and then suggested to her that in future she should text him if she had any medical questions for him and he will text her back with the answers.

  And over the next two weeks, Nickola’s texts became more often and at times, there were very few medical related topics discussed between them, but instead she became more flirtatious and personal with him. Coin responded in the same way after initial reluctance as he knew that he was breaking code of conduct between patients and doctors, and it also meant that he was being unfaithful to his wife as well but despite these restrictions, Julian suddenly felt energised and in demand by an attractive woman. He wanted to control his feelings but could not stop getting closer to Nicola whose magical spell had completely overwhelmed his body and soul.

  Nicola suggested to Julian during their conversation on the phone, ‘I am free this Saturday night, why don't you come over to my flat and I will cook a meal for you to express my gratitude for your excellent treatment for my headache.’

  Julian was surprised by this open invitation and said, ‘Look Nicki, I appreciate your gesture but as your doctor, it is my duty to treat you, so I have not done anything extra ordinary.’

  ‘I understand doctor, but I will feel good if you come over.’ Nicola whispered with a husky voice.

  Julian looked around the front room and said, ‘Nicki, do you know that I am married, and it will be difficult to make an excuse to come out on a Saturday without my wife.’ Julian did not even realize that he had changed her name from Nicola to Nicki.

  Nicola whispered on the phone, ‘I know that you are married, as your wife is my original GP. You can make any excuse you like, or if you want, you can bring your wife with you.’

  Julian either wanted to go on own or not at all so he said, ‘Ok, I will come on my own for a short period on Saturday evening.’

  Julian arrived at 7 PM on Saturday night at Nicki’s flat. He had spent the whole day trying to groom himself, also had a haircut on Friday night and bought a new shirt and shoes for that meeting with Nicola. Nicki opened the door with a grin on her face, she was wearing a black dress and had red slippers on her feet. She moved forward to implant a gentle kiss on his cheeks and whispered, ‘Welcome to my house. Please come in.’

  Julian handed over a bottle of wine and a bunch of flowers to Nicki.

  Nicki’s lounge was spacious, that extended to more than twenty feet in both length and width, its walls were pale yellow in colour with a maroon outlook and embellishment. Two big paintings hung on it that diverted attention from a brown leather furniture and a wooden coffee table. Nicki put the fresh flowers in a vase and poured white wine in to two empty glasses. The bottle finished quite quickly as Nicki took big gallops to drink.

  Although Julian took his own time to drink, yet he felt attracted towards Nicola and he found it difficult to resist himself, as he had not been in the company of a pretty young woman for a very long time. Julian felt that romance had disappeared from his life, as his wife was too busy with her job and career.

  Nicki looked at Julian and said, ‘Thanks for coming here, Julian. I appreciate all the help you had given me in getting rid of my headache.’

  Julian blushed and said, ‘You have not invited me here for that reason. Have you Nicki?’

  ‘Julian, you don't mind me calling you by your first name?’ Nicola looked at Julian with epoxy eyes.

  ‘No, Nicki. That is fine.’ whispered Julian

  Nicki moved few inches nearer to Julian and put her glass on the table. ‘Julian, I felt something for you when I met you first time. I did not even know at that time the reason for these feelings but with passage of time, the feelings have grown stronger. Now I can't stop thinking about you, day and night.’

  Julian tried to move away from Nicki, but Nicki moved nearer to him and touched his hand. Julian did not move his hand away, as the warmth and softness of Nicki’s hand sent electrical impulses through his body. Within seconds, both Julian and Nicki were kissing each other passionately. Nicki was feeling so hot that she removed her clothes in a flash and helped Julian to unbutton his shirt and trousers. Julian felt ecstatic after making love with Nicki that evening. He had not felt like this for a long time.

  Nicki lay down in Julian’s arms for a while, and Julian ran his fingers through Nicki’s soft hair. Julian said, ‘Nicki, I don't know how this has happened and where this will lead us but you know that I am a married man and I am much older than you so you should look for somebody who is single and of your age group. Besides, I cannot have a relationship with you as you are my patient.’

  ‘Julian, I realise that, but I have fallen in love with you. I know that I have not given much thought to our future. I just want to spend some quality time with you whenever we get a chance to
do so.’

  Julian took a deep breath and muttered, ‘Nicki, that is very tricky. My wife is with me all the time both at home and at work, so it is very difficult to find any excuses to meet you. I told her that I was going to a doctor’s meeting tonight, so it was easy to come out’

  Nicki moved Julian’s hand away from her body to put her clothes on, she looked at Julian and said, ‘Julian, do not worry about that, when the time comes, we will sort something out. Come to the dining table and let us eat something.’

  After finishing the meal Julian made a dash for his car. He took Nicki in his arms and implanted a kiss on her forehead, he said, ‘Nicki, thanks for a lovely time and delicious meal. I will be in touch.’

  Nicki wrapped her hands around Julian’s back and laid her head on his chest, ‘I wished that you could stay much longer. I hope that one day, you can stay with me for the whole night.’

  Chapter 8

  Nicki did not hear from Julian for another week, so she booked an appointment to see him. Julian was feeling nervous, when he saw Nicki’s name in the patient’s list. Nicki entered the room and took out a red rose from her purse to give it to Julian.

  She looked around the room and whispered. ‘Julian you have been avoiding me. You have not answered any of my phone calls or text messages’

  And without waiting for Julian’s reply, Nicki went straight to Julian’s chair and pulled him towards her and started to kiss him vigorously.

  Julian tried to push her away and muttered, ‘Nicki, I can't kiss you here, as somebody can enter the room any time. Please behave properly and control yourself.’

  Nicki wrapped her arms around Julian’s neck and then touched his face with both her hands and whispered, ‘Julian I miss you. I want to see you. Come to my place tonight. I don't want any excuses – I will be waiting for you.’

  Julian tried to calm himself, he removed her hands away from his face and pushed her away from him. He looked towards the door and said, ‘I can't come tonight as Gina and myself are invited to a medical seminar this evening organised by a medical sales representative.’
